yoga teacher trainings

i work with ytt providers to enhance their offerings through guest teaching, recorded materials, and tailored advice. while i am not a ytt provider myself, through a collaboration with one, my courses can be certified with yoga alliance and included as part of continuing professional education programs.

some ways i can contribute to your ytt program are:

  • pre-recorded lectures

  • live guest teaching or key notes

  • content advising

  • collaborative courses, on which i am a co-teacher

if you’re a ytt provider looking to integrate modules or sessions that critically examine yoga’s history and its intersections with social justice, i’d love to collaborate.
the trainings and courses i contribute to will expand the depth and breadth of your program.

please get in touch below for more details or to discuss options.

consultation + mentoring

i offer consulting and mentoring to individuals and organisations seeking to deepen their understanding of the intersections between yoga, south asian history, caste, gender and social justice.

consulting for organisations and non-profits

i provide tailored consulting services for non-profits, advocacy groups and other organisations that are focussed on social justice, equity and inclusion. my approach blends historical context with contemporary issues (which in my view are connected), guiding participants through these complexities, with the aim of creating more inclusive and informed practices.

mentoring

my 1:1 mentoring sessions are designed for individuals seeking to explore their personal practice and understanding of the subjects i specialise in. whether you’re a yoga teacher, social justice advocate or purely interested in growing and expanding your knowledge, my mentoring sessions offer a safe and supportive space for reflection and growth. i love these sessions because i often end up learning so much from my clients, deepening my understanding simultaneously.

  • "Roshni's workshops offered an invaluable perspective to our students. Her history-based approach, combined with her expertise in Sanskrit, made the sessions enjoyable and engaging. She challenges assumptions that are often taken for granted and accepted at face value in the yoga world. Roshni provides insight and critique of Brahminism and caste: currently in my opinion, the most important topic in yoga history and practice today. She is ushering us all into a modern, informed, and inclusive understanding of this post-lineage world and our place in it. I highly recommend Roshni to anyone looking to enrich their understanding of Sanskrit, Brahminism, yoga, and South Asia - more of this, please!"

  • "Roshni's workshop, Yoga, Sanskrit & Social Justice: Understanding the Politics of Practice, was insightful, expanding my understanding of the origins and context of yoga and Sanskrit. I learnt so much about how decolonising and debrahminising yoga are distinctly different, and yet part of an interconnected dialogue. The workshop critically explored ideas of yoga, belonging, and place through a social justice lens, presenting concepts that were new to me and deeply relevant to my teaching. l wholeheartedly recommend this workshop to all yoga teachers – it’s a valuable opportunity to enhance both your teaching and your personal practice in profound ways."

  • Roshni's scope of knowledge is deep and rigorous. She has an ability to convey complex topics with eloquence and in simple enough terms for everyone to understand, while also tending to nuance. I loved every bit of her workshop and in particular her focus on remaining open and heart-centred, even with difficult and often uncomfortable issues at hand."
